ITMS helps to automate complete truck movement without having manual processes in place. The major objective is to reduce the Turn around Time [TAT] of each vehicle and execute the operations fully automatic without involving manual processes.

Having the Truck as the major mode of transport Customer faces few challenges or setbacks, which need to be resolved by ITMS

Integrated Truck Management (ITMS) system helps to improve operational efficiency and streamline the truck movements.

The major objectives are as follows

  • Reduce TAT of each vehicle at every UNIT
  • Estimate Plan and allocate resources well in advance to ensure congestion is reduced to near zero.
  • Unmanned Weighbridge for all gross, tare and loading weights.
  • Control and validate the loading of finished goods as per the capacity and DO validated with backend ERP.
  • Predictive analysis and prevention methods to ensure optimal usage of plant capacity, which uses trucks for their operations.
  • Centralized monitoring and control of truck and comprehensive reporting at every level to ensure the SLA at every level is being tracked and achieved on day-to-day basis.

Vehicle Entry Automation:

  • All the vehicle information, driver information is centrally fed and the local controller gathers the required information from the server and cache it.
  • An RFID tag will be issued to Truck; this will be a onetime activity for vehicles coming for the first time.
  • When scheduler allocates the vehicle for entry, it is displayed in the LED display at parking lot and an SMS is sent to the driver to enter in to the gate.
  • On successful Vehicle Authentication, gate opens for the truck for transaction and TAT is slot is booked for the truck for a duration depending on the traffic index at the plant and route allocated to the truck.
  • If the truck cannot be mapped against a planned transaction or truck has approached a wrong gate the truck is redirected to parking lot office with a traffic light, LED and audio announcement.

Man-less Weigh Bridge Operation

  • Every weighbridge is provided with a distributed computing device, which captures the vehicle information from RFID tag and captures the weight from the load cell interface.
  • Traffic light and Audio announcement system helps to direct the driver for correct positioning and stable capture of data with the help of position sensors, calibration logic and transaction type.
  • If the vehicle is overloaded or under-loaded driver is given an indication with LED status, traffic light indication and audio announcement.
  • All the transaction, master information is fed from central server prior to the transaction so even in case of temporary network failure system can operate as standalone mode since it has internal memory to manage the data.
  • Compliance check for every vehicle is made against material type and accordingly the vehicle movement is managed at weighbridges.
  • System also has provision to manually override the system from central control room on emergency or faulty alerts.

How TAT gets reduced

  • All the allocation, de allocation, mapping and control of the truck movements are done with actual real time data, traffic congestion at any point of location within the plant shall not happen.
  • Seamless movement of trucks with no manual intervention ensure reduced TAT and waiting time.
  • Automated entry and man less weighbridge and route guidance helps the driver to reach the targeted processes on time with any delay.
  • Most of the loading / unloading points are automated with load cell, flowmeter integration so errors on overloading is minimized at the source itself
